Sights worth seeing

London's festive magic

Christmas is the time when London becomes a city of sensory experiences and a huge spectrum of sights to see, scents to smell, sounds to hear and treats to taste.

London has an endless list of entertainments to offer, so wrap up warm and tour of the city’s most spectacular sights.

Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park

From giant ice slides to a portable rollercoaster and a massive Ferris wheel, ice-skating to live music, a magical ice kingdom, spectacular circus shows and more. Create your own ice sculpture or visit Santa in his Grotto. There is plenty to keep the whole family entertained, with rides suitable for younger children too.

You'll find a 3-course dinner pop-up, plus plenty of street food kiosks, and of course the fantastic Christmas Bavarian market where you can enjoy seasonal fare and shop for unusual and unique gifts, arts and crafts, trinkets, jewellery and festive decorations.

Carnaby Christmas lights

The show, named Carnaby Kaleidoscope, sounds pretty spectacular. You can expect more than 600 3D and 2D butterflies fluttering around the area, each one hand-decorated with shining wings and eye-popping neon patterns.

Christmas cheer at St-Martin-in-the Fields

Just up from the river at Embankment, you'll find us at Charing Cross. This year we invite you to join us for a Classical Christmas at St Martin-in-the-Fields, on the edge of Trafalgar Square. Succumb to the incredible music from some of the world’s finest musicians, it's the perfect place to celebrate Christmas in the capital this year.

Throughout December you can experience an array of classical compositions performed a number of evenings a week. From Handel's Messiah, beautifully performed by The Sixteen, under the expert direction of Harry Christophers, to Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, to soul and baroque versions of Christmas Carols, and of course Carols by Candlelight. The church will be alive with music this Christmas.

Christmas in Leicester Square

Leicester Square has been transformed this winter into a traditional Christmas market with stalls bursting with gifts, food and drink. Step inside the spectacular 1920's Spiegeltent for a jaw-dropping show by La Clique, a combination of circus and cabaret.
